      Have yourself a NO-DIET Thanksgiving

      November 20, 2016

Okay, so if you're like me you are probably SO SICK Of all of the magazine covers and commercials for "diet-friendly" dishes over the holidays. Please tell me I'm not the only one who is so fucking bored with all the diet-speak and body shaming that we allow into our mainstream conversations.

I cannot stress enough how much the "Wellness Industry" WANTS you to feel bad about yourself on Thanksgiving.. and for the next 2 months.

Look, I've been a part of this industry for over 10 years. I've done everything from group fitness to membership sales. The industry WANTS you to feel bloated, fatigued, stressed, and anxious for the next two months... and according to them it all starts with Thanksgiving Dinner.

      Why?

We make all of our money in January.

The industry is banking (literally) on you to feel so bad about yourself over the next 2 months that you're willing to drop some serious $$$ on January first.

Please join me in taking a stand against the industry that wants you to fail.

      Promise me this:

I will celebrate Thanksgiving as a day of love and gratitude

I will not count my calories on Thanksgiving, because one day will not break me... and I have better things to do.

I will enjoy every morsel of what's on my plate....

.... (Regardless of whether it's a healthy balance of vegetables and lean proteins, or a second slice of pie covered in ice cream.)

I will not starve myself the morning of or the day after Thanksgiving. I will eat when I'm hungry, and stop when I'm full.

I will not hop on the treadmill or sprint to the gym the day after Thanksgiving in attempts to "burn off" all the calories I consumed.

I will exercise only if I'm doing it to FEEL GOOD and because I enjoy my active routine.

I will look forward to the Holiday season to enjoy spending time with friends, holiday traditions, and celebrations.

I will do my best to continue my current diet/exercise routine.... but I will not beat myself up if I skip a day at the gym or try out a new cookie recipe.

I will not promise myself that things will change in the New Year.... I will live every day to the fullest in a way that suits my personal goals and lifestyle.

      Please,

Promise me you will not use "body-shaming language" on Thanksgiving.

Promise me you will not use the terms "Bad", "Naughty", "Fattening", "Sinful" etc regarding the food on your plate.

Promise me that you will only invest in your health and fitness so you will feel good about yourself, and not out of fear or shame.

And obviously, Don't let this be you:

       xoxooxxoxoo

      Happy Thanksgiving!!!!!!!!!!!!
